Winter Crisis Program
Here at the House of Hope, we provide a Winter Crisis Program to help get as many families off the streets during the cold winter months.
There a lot of risk factors being left out in the cold such as:
- Frostbite
- Freezing to death
- Flu
- COVID-19
- Pneumonia
- Dehydration
This program was started in 2018 to accommodate as many families during these cold brutal months and provide them with shelter to support them in these trying times.
We open our doors to any family in the community who are in need of a hot meal and a warm place to stay from the bitter, dangerous cold. No family is turned away.
The Winter Crisis Program saves lives! This program starts on December 21st and ends on March 21st.
This program’s goal is to get at least 25 families off the streets during the winter season in addition to the normal 30 families we serve on a daily basis.
This a huge accomplishment for our organization with the continued support of the community and the support of our donors.
All of these factors help to keep us up and running to make sure our clients have all the necessary resources needed to survive.
We are always asking for volunteers to serve and prepare meals for our clients.
We are also in need of additional staff to accommodate our clients on multiple shifts, greet guests, and answer calls at the front desk.
Being homeless is hard enough, so showing love and compassion during the cold season is crucial. Having nowhere to go is already mentally draining, especially when children are involved.
So let’s beat this by being a helping hand and come together as a community to offer a solution.
Even a little can go a long way, so open your heart and be that shoulder to lean on in these times of need.
Let’s continue to be a positive impact in these families’ lives.
For volunteers, I can be contacted by email: bennettira@yahoo.com or my cell phone: (567)868-8495.
Again, thank for your continued support.
Your Friends,
House of Hope
